About The Project

Sometimes we want to know the distance between two points or objects. In this project students built an electronic length measuring meter which can accurately measure its distance from any object and display the result on a liquid crystal display (LCD). You can use this device to quickly measure the length and breadth of your classroom walls or you can sell it to a civil engineer so that he can replace his old measuring tape.

 

At the end of this project, students were be able to:

  • Understand the circuit diagram and solder it to a printed circuit board (PCB)
  • Use simple programming techniques to display numbers and letters on an LCD
  • Understand how the ultrasonic sensor works
  • Upload their programs onto the Atmega328p Microcontroller.
