Tech Workshop at Vivian Fowler Memorial College in Lagos
An opportunity was given to Center4Tech to deliver tech talk to young and intelligent girls of Vivian Fowler Memorial College, Lagos on Thursday, March 19th, 2015.
The event started with an introductory session whereby we introduced Center4Tech staff, products and services. Then we briefly discussed innovations at their fingertips and how to make rather than just use technology. We believe that young people can change their world if they are equipped with the right tools, NOW. And for Young and brilliant minds comprising of over 500 junior and secondary girls from the prestigious Vivian Fowler school who were eager to know what we do, we impressed them with breath taking electronics projects done by some secondary school students in our summer camp. The projects are, the drawdio (a singing pencil), a simple calculator (it is device used to add numbers) an Intruder Alert System (A device used to detect intruders using a PIR motion sensor) and (a air rampage mobile game designed by one of our students).
After explaining those projects to them, we expatiated on various ways technology has made life easier using their smart phones and tablet as an illustration, we then embarked on a question and answer session where questions where thrown at the students and those with the best answers were awarded with gifts.
we finally introduced our products and services, with emphasis on what they will need at their level, like Mobile Games, Electronic circuit design and 3D Animation. At the end of the seminar, the students showed interest by asking intelligent questions and they registered for the program that they would love to learn.
We thank the management, staff and students of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for making the event a reality.
